I am a ceramic artist, currently residing in Köln, Germany.
Born in Brazil and raised in Aotearoa.
I make both functional wares and ceramic sculptures. I have mainly focused on hand-building, although I do also occasionally throw. I have also been teaching hand-building to both adults and children since 2020.
Being an immigrant as both a child and as an adult has influenced my work, which is based around food as a form of nostalgia, noticing cultural differences and missing creature comforts.
Right now, I am really enjoying creating shapes and textures with slips, discovering different ways to decorate with underglaze, and trying to decipher recipes on glazy.org.
